PDP congratulates Olujimi on Appeal Court victory

Following the Appeal Court’s affirmation of her validity as the senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has congratulated Senator Biodun Olujimi.

The court had, earlier on Wednesday, affirmed the judgment of the election tribunal which nullified the election of Prince Dayo Adeyeye as the lawmaker representing Ekiti South.

In a statement on Wednesday by the PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr Jackson Adebayo, the party said the judgments of both courts were not surprising because Adeyeye’s victory did not reflect the decision of the people.

The statement said the party ”berated INEC for stupidiously colluded with the All Progressive Congress to steal the mandate which was given to Sen Olujimi and PDP at the poll without minding the democratic consequences on the nation”.

The statement read in part: ”The Party however gave kudos to the judiciary for righting the wrong appropriately by declaring Sen Olujimi and PDP as the authentic winner of the National Assembly election.

“We congratulate all members of our Party in the State and particularly congratulate Sen Biodun Olujimi for her courage to fight the battle to a victorious logical conclusion.”

The party further described the victory as an act of God, while assuring members of a great future for the party.
