Three abducted in Enugu

A Nnewi-based businessman, Ernest Otugo, and his friend have been abducted.

The incident occurred on Thursday night.

Mr Otugo, the President of the Ibite Olo Community in Ezeagu Local Government Area, was travelling with his wife, children and friend when they were accosted by the kidnappers.

His friend, identified only as Reuben, an indigene of Awka, Anambra State, was travelling with the family in a Toyota Venza car from Nnewi to Enugu for a social event scheduled slated for Friday.

They abductors struck at Amokwe, Udi Local Council along old Enugu-Awka Road and took the couple alongside Reuben but spared the children.

Mrs Otugo was however released later so she could arrange ransom for others.

In a related development, Kosiso, a daughter of a former aide to former Governor Chimaroke Nnamani, Frank Anioma, was reportedly abducted in Enugu, the capital city of the state on Thursday.

Mr Anioma said his daughter was on her way to the New Haven market when she went missing and she didn’t answer her calls thereafter.

Police spokesperson in Enugu, Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the two incidents, adding that anti-kidnapping operatives  were on the trail of the suspects.
