Kwara police launch manhunt for ATM vandals

Kwara State Police Command has launched a manhunt for suspected vandals of two Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) in Ilorin, the state capital.

Commissioner of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, frowned at the ugly incident and has vowed to apprehend the perpetrators by all means.

Reports indicated that two ATMs belonging to a commercial bank (name withheld) were vandalised by unknown hoodlums and an undisclosed amount of money carted away before the machines were set ablaze.

Egbetokun therefore appealed to the public to volunteer information that could lead to the arrest of the hoodlums so that the ugly trend could be nipped in the bud.

A statement by the Command’s spokesman on Thursday said investigation was ongoing. It urged members of the public to go about their lawful endeavours without fear, while the business community was assured of safety of lives and properties.

The statement added that the Commissioner could be reached, with utmost confidentiality, on 09033871133, 08070734277 and 08125275046.
