A yet-to-be identified police officer has landed in trouble following the death of his girlfriend after an allegedly sex romp in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Wednesday night at Atayese street, Bawa Estate, Ado Ekiti, inside the room of the deceased.
The suspect was said to have visited the lady from Lagos where he worked as a policeman.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti Command, ASP Sunday Abutu, said a neighbour to the deceased reported the case at the Oke Ila Divisional Police station in the capital city before officers swung into action.
“The lady died inside her room and one of her neighbours reported at our office at Oke Ila in Ado Ekiti.
“Our detectives immediately visited the house and saw the lifeless body of the lady. The corpse had been evacuated and taken to the morgue of the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital,” Abutu stated.
The police spokesman said the suspect was arrested and was still in custody, adding that his identity and profession was sketchy.
“We are yet to know whether he is a policeman or not. Let us wait for the outcome of our investigation, it will reveal all that,” he said.
