The announcement came in a statement o. Tuesday, signed by the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Wasiu Olatunbosun, and made available to Newsafresh.
The statement disclosed that the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Rahman Abiodun Abdu-Raheem, said the institution was shut down for non-compliance with registration procedures.
Some indigenes of the town, under the auspices of ‘Ebedi Frontliner’, had petitioned the Oyo State Government, the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, and the National Board for Technical Education, asserting that the institution was neither registered nor accredited for students’ enrolment, among other allegations.
Barrister Abdu-Raheem, while sealing off the college, urged Proprietors of schools to always do the needful in their quests to establish schools, saying this would prevent unnecessary embarrassment for both the state and the stakeholders.
The commissioner had, last month, invited and directed the Proprietor of the College, Mr Adewale Owoseni, to remove all billboards with the inscriptions of the school until all necessary procedures were perfected.
Abdu-Raheem has therefore reiterated the state government’s commitment to ensuring due process in all affairs of the state.
