The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has yet again apologized over error in the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country.
The centre said it erroneously announced two new cases in Bauchi on Wednesday, whereas the cases were repeat tests of previously infected patients.
The error implied that the number of cases in Bauchi remained six, reducing the previous total of 276 in Nigeria to 274.
Also, this has brought to 288 the total number of cases in Nigeria as at Thursday with the fourteen new cases recorded.
According to NCDC, ”Yesterday, we erroneously reported 2 new cases in Bauchi. Following further review, we can confirm that these were repeat tests for previously confirmed cases.
”We apologise for this error and remain committed to ensuring transparent and accurate reporting of test results.”
