Adenegan twins celebrate landmark birthday in grand style

It was a celebration galour recently as the Owo-born identical twins, Drs Taiwo and Kehinde Adenegan, celebrated their landmark birthday as they donated a vehicle to the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) Owo Dioceses and also presented cash worth millions of naira to youths of the community.

As part of the celebration, the Adenegan twins dedicated the ceremony to the service of God by hosting the thirteenth edition of the annual Synod of the Anglican of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Owo Dioceses.

The programme, held at held at St. Patrick’s Anglican Church in Ijebu Owo, was presided over by the Bishop of the Diocese, Rt. Revd. Dr. Stephen Ayodeji Fagbemi, with the theme: “I Can Do All Things through Christ who Strengthens Me”  Philippians 4:13.

Kehinde is a Senior Lecturer and Acting Director at the Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, while Taiwo is an Associate Professor and Dean Students Affairs at the Achievers University, Owo.

The week-long ceremony which was held amidst encomium was attended by important personalities within the academia, political class, religious world as well as friends and family.

In their separate remarks at the occasion, the elated dons expressed their hearty appreciation to the Almighty God who had graciously granted them long-live and fulfilled their desire to host the Synod.

Describing the ceremony as a good one and a covenant which the duo have had with God when they were thirty, they stated that the cash donations were part of their promises to empower the youths of the community on the educational development.

The duo presented an evangelism space bus for the growth evangelism in the church and also presented the sum of N500,000:00 as bursary to youths in the Dioceses, cutting across the clergy and laity, as well as donation of over five million naira for developmental projects.

In addition, they donated the sum of one million naira to feed all delegates and guests throughout the programme.

In his remark, the Bishop of the Diocese, Rt. Revd.  Stephen Fagbemi, who could not hide his joy at the glorious occasion, expressed gratitude to the quintessential and unique twins who have dedicated their lives to the service of God and humanity.

The cleric enjoined the youths of this generation to toe the footsteps of these academic gurus, while admonishing all and sundry to believe in God’s inherent abilities in them to achieve great feats in live. He also decried the spate of killings and insecurity in the nation and pleaded for a united Nigeria where peace and justice shall reign.

He later prayed for the family of the twins, the church and the people of Owo town in general.

Meanwhile, a one-day youth summit was earlier held during the Synod week where talks were given by seasoned scholars, entrepreneurs and pastors on topical issues ranging from the roles of youths in church to nation building.

Among eminent personalities present at the occasion were:  Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, Ondo State Governor, Mrs. Laoye Tomori, former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Engineer Funso Kupolokun, former Group Managing Director Nigeria National Petroleum Company, as well as staff members of  Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo and Achievers University, Owo.

Others were: Management of Achievers University led by the Vice-Chancellor, Engr. Prof. T.S. Ibiyemi, Hon. Alaba Lad-Ojomo, Mr. Dare Aragbaye, Ondo State Head of Service, the traditional rulers of Owo, Isuada and Oba-Ile towns, and others.
