The Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) has set up an ultra modern office and laboratory complex in Ekiti State.
The edifice, located in Ado-Ekiti, is part of measures to standardize the quality of goods and products for the general health of the people and economic purposes.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Director General of the Standards Organization of Nigeria, Mallam Farouk Salim, restated the commitments of the organization towards ensuring standardization of products and services in the country.
Mallam Salim said part of the commitments was putting up befitting offices and modern laboratories across the nation.
The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, urged SON to step up its campaign on the need for Nigerians to priorise quality goods and services.
In his remarks, Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, explained that the full presence of the organization would complement the economic plan of the state government, urging companies and business owners to establish in Ekiti.
Governor Fayemi also promised his administration’s resolution to partner SON in achieving standard products and services in the state.
In their goodwill messages, the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe, represented by Chief Olusola Olanrewaju and the Oluyin of Iyin-Ekiti, Oba Adeola Ajakaye, appreciated Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo for his efforts towards putting up the edifice in Ekiti State.
