Repositioning: Ekiti NUJ inaugurates new committees

The State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ekiti Chapter, Mr Rotimi Ojomoyela, has inaugurated four different committees as part of efforts to reposition the union in line with his agenda.

The committees are Ethics and Disciplinary, Sports, Welfare,  and Advocacy, Training and Strategy.

The inauguration held at the NUJ Secretariat, Oke Ori Omi, in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday.

Ojomoyela said the appointees were carefully selected across the various chapels based on their antecedents and contributions to the growth of union while urging them to see their appointments as a call to service and justify the confidence reposed on them.

The chairman particularly advised members of the Ethics and Disciplinary committee to fish out fake journalists and non members using NUJ fake stickers in the state.

He sought the cooperation of members in assisting appointees to perform creditably.

Members of the Ethics and Disciplinary Committee are Amos Ogunrinde as chairman, Babajide Agbeyo as the , Secretary, as well as Oluyinka Soyemi, Toyosi Eleyimin and Gani Salau as members.

Sports Committee has Deji Ogunsakin as Chairman and Victor Akinkuolie as Secretary, while members are
Charles Ademolaju, Banke Fajuyi and Deji Egbebi.

Also, the Welfare Committee is headed by Bolanle Lawal with Emmanuel Nwosoro as secretary, while Opeyemi Jooda, Benjamin Akinola and Femi Fadaunsi are members.

The Advocacy, Training and Strategy Committee has Mr Remi Koleoso as Chairman and Olaniyi Alade as secretary, while members are Dare Daniels, Joke Ajayi and Mr. Wale Asubiojo.

Two ex-officios, Yaquob Popoola and Kayode Jegede, and Special Assistant on Media to the NUJ Chairman, Wole Balogun, were also sworn in.

Responding on behalf of others, the chairman, Ethics and Disciplinary Committee, Mr Amos Ogunrinde, thanked the state executive for the honour accorded them, promising that they would not disappoint the union.
