The suspended Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, has been released on bail.
Magu was released on Wednesday evening after spending nine days in detention.
However, details of his bail are still sketchy as at press time.
He was arrested last week Monday after a summon by a presidential panel following allegations of corruption and insubordination levelled against him by Minister of Justice and Attorney-General, Abubakar Malami.
During his detention, Magu reportedly spent the nights at Area 10, Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) of the Nigeria Police in Abuja.
His personal and official residences in Abuja were also searched and his security aides withdrawn.
Meanwhile, Magu’s release came hours after reports that 12 EFCC directors were suspended in connection with his probe.
Some of the directors affected by the action were involved in investigating Malami.
