Probe: Buhari suspends EFCC boss, Magu

President Muhammadu Buhari has suspended the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu.

The suspension came 24 hours after a presidential panel headed by Justice Ayo Salami to probe the various allegations levelled against Magu grilled him for hours.

Magu was thereafter taken into police custody on Monday night.

It was gathered that Buhari’s action was normal as a person who is under investigation cannot hold an office which is the centre of the probe.

A Commissioner of Police at present, Magu became the Acting Chairman of the EFCC on Novermber 9, 2015, after President Buhari removed Ibrahim Lamorde.
