Popular Singer, Portable, to Appear in Court Monday

Police in Ogun State have arrested popular Nigerian musician, Habeeb Okikiola, commonly known as Portable, over alleged assault.

The arrest was carried out after a 72-hour ultimatum given to him to report himself to the command expired.

The command had issued the ultimatum for Portable to report himself to the nearest police station or be arrested. Ogun police spokesman, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, also confirmed that the singer’s father pleaded on his son’s behalf and promised to bring him to the station.

When contacted on Friday, Oyeyemi confirmed the arrest, stating that Portable was detained at the Command’s headquarters at Eleweran, Abeokuta.

It was gathered that the singer will spend 72 hours in detention before he will be charged to court on Monday.
