Popular Akure pastor arrested over missing child

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Tuesday arrested the Founder of Sotitobire Miracle Centre, Akure, Ondo State, Alfa Babatunde, following a petition against him over a missing child in his church.

Alfa Babatunde was arrested after the DSS invited him for interrogation at their office in Akure, the state capital, following series of agitations by various groups.

According to reports, one-year-old Eniola Kolawole was dropped at the creche section of the church located at the Oshinle Quarters of Akure by his mother during a service but went missing shortly before the end of the program.

Mrs Modupe Kolawole, the distraught mother of the missing child, accused Babatunde of being behind the sudden disappearance of her son.

A source revealed that Babatunde was earlier contacted through his lawyer but did not show up. After intense pressure, he showed up on Tuesday afternoon and was subsequently taken to his house and church for thorough search.

The source said the case has been transferred to Abuja for further investigation.
