Police react as gunmen murder APC chairman in Osun

The Osun State Police Command has confirmed that gunmen on Monday murdered the All Progressives Congress(APC) chairman in Atakunmosa East Local Council Development Area of the state, Chief Gbenga Ogbara.

It was gathered that the assailants invaded Ogbara’s home at Igangan in the midnight and shot him in his sitting room, causing panic.

Police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, said the deceased was killed around 12am, adding that operatives have been drafted to the area.

While maintaining that investigation is ongoing, she promised that the perpetrators would be brought to book.

As at the time of filing this report, police operatives have deposited the remains of Ogbara to Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesha, mortuary.
