Two officers in a viral video assaulting a woman at Odo Ori Market in Iwo, Osun State, have been dismissed from service.
Inspector Ikuesan Taiwo and Constable Abass Ibrahim were shown in the video beating the victim who apparently violated the lockdown order of the state government.
In an earlier statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba, the authorities condemned the action of the officers and promised immediately arrest and orderly room trial of the duo.
However, the Force Public Relations Department on Friday announced that the officers were tried, found guilty and consequently dismissed from the Force.
It added that they will be arraigned in court for prosecution.
