Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a cleric, Ebenezer Ajigbotoluwa, for allegedly raping and impregnating two underage sisters and defrauding their mother of N2m.
Ajigbotoluwa, the General Overseer of Church of Lord, Olomoore, Abeokuta, was arrested following a complaint by the mother of the victims at Lafenwa police station.
According to the police, the complainant said that her ordeal began in 2018 after she was taken to Ajigbotoluwa’s church for spiritual healing from an ailment.
The pastor was said to have asked her to relocate her entire family of six to the church premises to avoid being afflicted with the same sickness, but started having intercourse with the patient’s 16-year-old and 13-year-old daughters, unknown to their mother.
Consequently, he impregnated the two minors, procured abortion for them at a private clinic and also collected N2m from the family for ‘spiritual cleansing’.
Ajigbotoluwa allegedly absconded after he got wind that the police were after him but was later arrested days ago. On interrogation, he confirmed most of the allegations levelled against him.
Meanwhile, the police said assorted charms were recovered from the suspects home.
