Members of the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State, has elected Mr Raphael Ogbonnaiye as the new Chairman of the chapel.
A release by the Secretary of the chapel, Mr Victor Akinkuolie, said the election of the new Chairman was conducted in line with NUJ’s constitution and monitored by the State Chairman, Mr Rotimi Ojomoyela.
The exercise was held during the monthly congress of the chapel held at the Old Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
The position became vacant following the appointment of Mr Victor Ogunje as Special Assistant on Media to the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State.
In his acceptance speech, Ogbonnaiye thanked members and promised to work for the interest of chapel.
Ogbonnaiye, the Correspondent of the Daily Trust Newspaper, is the former Vice Chairman of the chapel and would serve for a period of seven months to complete the tenure of the current executive.
