NUC names, closes 67 illegal universities in Nigeria (Full list)

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has published a list containing 67 illegal universities that has been closed down in Nigeria.

This was contained in a public notice on the commission’s website, signed by its Executive Secretary, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed.

The list also include universities in the country claiming to be affiliates of foreign universities.

NUC therefore warned that ”anyone who patronises or obtains any certificate from any of these illegal institutions does so at his or her own risk. Certificates obtained from these sources will not be recognised for the purposes of NYSC, employment, and further studies”.

The commission further stated that aside being closed down, the following institutions are undergoing further investigations/court actions in a bid to prosecute the proprietors and recover illegal fees/charges:
