Nigerian federal judge declared missing

A Federal High Court judge, Idrissa Saleh, has been declared missing after his whereabouts could not be ascertained.

Saleh, who was admitted in an Abuja hospital due to illness, left his room on Saturday after morning prayers.

The 54-year-old judge has not contacted anyone since the incident, a situation that has heightened tension among his friends and associates who feared he might have been kidnapped.

Abuja Police Commissioner, Bala Ciroma, who confirmed the disappearance added that investigation is ongoing and the case has not been declared as kidnapping yet.

Saleh worked with the Yobe State Ministry of Justice and the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) before becoming a Federal High Court judge in 2015.
