The General Overseer of Sotitobire Miracle Centre, Akure, Alfa Babatunde, and six others were on Monday remanded in prison by a Magistrate Court sitting in Akure, Ondo State capital.
They were arraigned on two counts bordering on conspiracy and kidnapping.
The six other suspects arraigned alongside the 42-year-old pastor were Omodara Olayinka (50), Margaret Oyebola (62), Grace Ogunjobi (56), Egunjobi Motunrayo (24), Esther Kayode (36) and Peter Anjorin (31).
They were charged with the offences by the Department of State Services (DSS) in connection with the disappearance of a one-year-old child, Gold Kolawole, at the church on November 10, 2019.
The offences contravene Section 5 of Ondo State Anti-kidnapping and Anti-abduction Law 2010.
One of the suspects, Anjorin, was also accused of destroying and secretly taking away vital evidence that could have aided speedy investigation in respect of the missing boy, an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 123 of the Criminal Code and Cap 37 Laws of Ondo State.
The suspects were therefore remanded in Olokuta Correctional Centre and the case adjourned till January 14, 2020.
