JTF operatives chase suspected ‘Yahoo Boys’ to death in Osogbo (VIDEO)

There was palpable tension in Oke-Fia area of Osogbo on Tuesday as operatives of the Joint Task Force (JTF) allegedly chased suspected ‘Yahoo Boys’ to their deaths.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred around 6pm and later degenerated into a violent protest as some traffic wardens were severely beaten by angry youths.

It was gathered that the victims numbering four went shopping at the popular Osun Mall at Olaiya area of the city and took off in a Toyota Corolla car with registration number KUJ 553 LY before the JTF operatives, who were men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), started chasing them.

The driver of the vehicle was said to have headed towards the Adesoji Aderemi East-West By-Pass when he suddenly lost control and ran into an electric pole.

One of the occupants of the car reportedly died on the spot, two others gave up the ghost on their way to the hospital while the last was critically injured.

The incident later escalated into a riot as youths demanded to see the operatives who caused the accident but were later repelled by policemen.

The corpse of the first victim was also said to have been dumped in front the Government House at Oke-Fia by the angry mob.
