The former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Christopher Alao Akala, has died, aged 71.
Born on June 3, 1950, at Ogbomoso in Oyo State, Alao-Akala attended Osupa Baptist Day School, Ogbomoso and Kamina Barracks Middle School, 5th Battalion of Infantry, Tamale, Ghana.
A member of the All Progressive Congress until his demise, Akala Alao-Akala was enlisted as Cadet Inspector of Police in June 1974 and retired in September 1995 as the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Logistics and Supply, Oyo State Police Command, before joining politics.
