Nigeria have dropped by one position to 34th in the new Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) ranking.
The September ranking released on Thursday shows Nigeria garnered 1, 482 points in the month under review as against 1,481 it had in August.
Despite the drop, Nigeria maintain the 3rd position in Africa behind Senegal and Tunisia who have 1,546 and 1,493 points respectively, while Algeria and Morocco occupy the 4th and 5th positions.
Senegal and Tunisia maintain 20th and 29th positions in world ranking, while Algeria and Morocco moved up two positions each to 38th and 39th respectively
Belgium remain top of the football governing body’s world ranking with 1,752 points. France moved up from 3rd to 2nd, with Brazil, England and Portugal occupying 3rd to 5th positions.
Nigeria had its best world ranking in April, 1994 with 5th position, while the worst came in November, 1999 with 82nd position.
