Fed Poly Ado wins national inter-school competition

The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, has emerged the overall best in the inter-school quiz competition organised by the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors for tertiary institutions in the country.

Semilore Akinnawonu and Christianah Lafiaji of the department of Quantity Surveying, headed by Builder Kayode Oladipo, won the laurel for the institution after a hard-fought competition which included top polytechnics and universities in the country.

Presenting the team to the Rector, Dr Hephzibar Oladebeye, the Dean, School of Environmental Studies, Surveyor Abiodun Oyedokun, said the students displayed excellent spirit during the quiz and deserved the first position.

Oyedokun stated that the competition involved Nigerian polytechnics and universities offering Quantity Surveying across the nation, stating that Akinnawonu and Lafiaji had earlier won the southwest quiz competition before proceeding to the national level to win another laurel.

Speaking on the achievement, Dr Oladebeye praised the students for doing the polytechnic proud, adding that the feat portrayed the school as a citadel of excellence.

”This is the kind of achievement we want to hear about. While some are engaging in unprofitable ventures, you are bringing laurels that will project our image.

“The governing council will celebrate this. This is a proof that we know what we are doing here. You have done the institution, myself and yourselves proud with this feat,” Oladebeye said.
