Police in Ogun State have arrested a 43-years-old Abiodun Oladapo for impregnating his 19-years-old daughter.
Operatives swung into action following a complaint by one Oluwatoyin Idowu that his son, Michael, was accused of impregnating the teenager but he found the allegation to be false after interrogating the young man.
A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police Command, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the victim was invited and she confessed that though Michael had intercourse with her last year December, it was actually her father who was responsible for the pregnancy.
The statement read in parts: “She stated further that her father had been sleeping with her since February 2022 with threat to kill her if she informed anybody about it.
“According to the victim, when it was discovered that she is pregnant, her father asked her to lie against Michael Idowu of being responsible for the pregnancy.
“On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime but blamed it on the devil.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect who had long separated with the victim’s mother took custody of the girl when her mother remarried and they have been living together since then.”
Oyeyemi added that the suspect had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and possible prosecution.
