The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti South Senatorial District has restated its unending commitment to welfare of youths in the party so as to enhance their standard of living and give them a sense of belonging.
This is part of resolutions reached during series of special meetings by the APC Youths Development Committee with all elected public officials and political appointees across the district.
During the meetings which were held at the APC secretariat in Ikere-Ekiti between the 9th and 17th of February 2021, participants described youths as the pillar of any organization who must be well taken care of to harness their energy and potential for sustainable growth and development of the party.
It was also resolved that elected officials and appointees should give better attention and support to people at the grassroots in line with the agenda of Governor Kayode Fayemi.
In his remarks, the chairman, APC South Senatorial District, Chief Akindele Akinbobola, commended the committee under the chairmanship of Hon. Olalekan Ijidale for organizing such crucial meetings which had reawaken the consciousness of members to their roles and responsibilities towards the party’s progress.
He urged the youths to remain committed to the success of the party and cooperate with the Youth Development Committee which would be meeting them soon so as to resolve how best their interests could be well captured.
The Chairman of APC in Ekiti State, Barrister Paul Omotosho, appreciated the committee as well as the participants, noting that all resolutions reached would be properly implemented for the interest of the party.
Barrister Omotoso called for more unity among party members irrespective of situations, while equally appealing to few people who were yet to benefit to be patient.
Addressing participants at the various meetings, the chairman of the committee, Hon Ijidale, affirmed that the aim was to brainstorm and reach a concrete compromise of how to consolidate on the gains of the party.
Hon. Ijidale who appreciated the participants for various suggestions said the committee would soon meet with youths across the councils to notify them of positive plans and to also shed more light to some grey areas regarding the distribution of benefits of the party.
He acknowledged the need to enhance the communication gap between the youths and government representatives while commending Barrister Omotosho, Chief Akinbobola, as well as members of the committee.
At the meetings, encomiums were showered on Governor Kayode Fayemi for his leadership style and sense of patriotism with a promise to support his government and future political ambition.
