The Guardian Newspapers reporter in Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Afolabi, has petitioned the state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Babatunde Mobayo, over alleged attack by a suspected land grabber, Mr. Bayo Fajuyi.

According to the petition, a copy of which was given to Newsafresh, Afolabi alleged that the land grabber has been threatening his life over a parcel of land he bought from the Abodi family located at Oke-Ureje area of Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

He said that Fajuyi had on three different occasions made attempt to harm him when he visited the parcel of land, claiming that he owns the place.

He alleged that at one of the occasions, Fajuyi placed fetish objects at the parcel of land to scare him away.

As a result of Bayo Fajuyi’s persistent threats, Afolabi said, ” I reported him to the head of Abodi family to call him to order all to no avail.”

The Reporter therefore urged the police boss to use his good office to protect him and also address the situation appropriately.

He called on those that may have been scammed by the Bayo Fajuyi and his cohorts to beware as the parcel of land in question is not for sale.

Attached to the petition are certified copies of approved Survey Plan by Ekiti State Government, the receipt issued by the Agodi family, as well as the receipt received from the surveyor who sold the land to him.
