Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested Ebelechukwu, the wife of the immediate past governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano.
She is reportedly being questioned on allegations of fraud in the commission’s custody in Abuja.
The former governor’s wife was in the news following a fracas with a former Nigerian Ambassador to Spain and wife of Biafra warlord, Mrs Bianca Ojukwu, during the swearing-in of Prof Chukwuma Soludo as Anambra State Governor on March 17.
Recall that her husband was apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, while planning to travel to the United States on the day he handed over to Soludo.
Obiano was quizzed over the alleged diversion of N37 billion security vote and N5bn SURE-P fund.
