EFCC arraigns former AGF, Adoke, on fresh charges

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned a former Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke, on fresh charges.

Adoke was arraigned alongside Mr. Aliyu Abubakar after the duo were initially arraigned on a seven-count charge bordering on money laundering, bribery, and abuse of office.

Recall that an Abuja Federal High Court had granted Adoke bail in the sum of N50m with one surety in like sum after he pleaded not guilty to all charges stemming from his alleged fraudulent involvement in the Malabo oil deal.

He was first arraigned before the court in December 2019 after his return to the country from Dubai.

However, according to Adoke’s lawyer, Mike Ozekhome (SAN), the EFCC kept holding his client“ in permanent custody.
