Eco-Art Challenge: Triple G rewards winners, restates commitment to climate issues

Triple G Eco Revival Solutions Limited has rewarded the winners of Eco-Art Challenge 2021, a competition for talented artists aged 16-25 who reside in the South West area of the country and Kwara State in the North Central.

The award and dinner night, held in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, featured presentation of gifts to the winners and calls for concerted solutions to climate change issues.

Akinnawo Oluwatosin, an Economics graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University emerged the overall winner of the challenge, Hermann Paul of Communications and Language Arts department, University of Ibadan, emerged the first runner up, while an undergraduate in the department of Architecture, Obafemi Awolowo University, Emmanuel Gambo, picked the second runner up position.

The winners were rewarded with N100,000 with an HP laptop, N50,000 with android phone, and N25,000 prizes respectively.

Speaking at the event, Triple G founder, Mrs Oluwaseyi Ebenezer, said the competition was organised to identify talents while also echoing the need for concerted effort in addressing the issues associated with climate change.

In her remarks, the former Provost of the old College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti, Prof. Mojisola Oyarekua, stressed the need for every member of the society to work towards an environment free of disasters caused by climate change, noting that the recent climatic events in the society was as a result of the damage done to the forest in the past.

Oyarekua therefore encouraged participants at the event to imbibe the act of planting trees, adding that it has a good effect on the society.

The Commissioner for Art, Culture and Tourism in Ekiti, Prof Ojo Bakare, also emphasised on the need for all and sundry to contribute their quota to a viable environment.

He pledge the support of the ministry to the vision of Triple G Eco Revival Solutions Limited to combat the challenges facing the environment.

In his speech, Mr Ayo Apata, the CEO of LikeParadise Shopping, the sponsor of Eco-Art challenge, said Triple G has further driven his interest in climate change and environmental issues.

He maintained that contestants have also impressed the organisers with thoughts and solutions provided to address the global crisis.
