The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ekiti State Chapter, has urged residents, especially women and children, to abide by government directives in view of the effort to tackle the spread of coronavirus pandemic in the state.
In a statement by its Chairperson, Mrs Fatima Bello, and the Secretary Mrs Adewumi Ademiju, the association advised women and children to adhere strictly to the rules put in place to overcome the deadly disease.
According to the statement, “Women and children being the most vulnerable must ensure compliance with hygenic conditions.
“Mothers should ensure regular hand washing with water/soap in the household and the use of alcohol-based sanitizers”
The association also urged mothers to seize the opportunity of the stay-at-home order to monitor the academic activities of their children/wards till school resumes, as vigilance on their movement is maintained.
While commending the state government on the efforts put in place to tackle the spread of the deadly disease, NAWOJ charged residents on cooperation and tolerance to subdue the challenge.
The association prays that Almighty God will provide adequate/necessary solution to the global pandemic.
