Chairman-nominee dies few hours to screening

Tragedy struck on Wednesday morning when the Transition Chairman nominee for Ipokia Local Government in Ogun State, Hon. Saibu Adeosun Mulero, died few hours to screening.

Mulero was one of the nominees appointed by Prince Dapo Abiodun to oversee affairs of the 20 council areas in the state till the Ogun StateĀ Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) conduct LG polls.

Mulero was expected to appear before the State House of Assembly for screening on Wednesday before news of his death filtered in the early hours of the day.

According to a close family source, he had already dressed up for a trip to Abeokuta but suddenly decided to take a short rest and did not wake up.

The deceased was a graduate of Mass Communication from Ogun State Polytechnic, now Moshood Abiola Polytechnic.

He was a former Special Assistant and Senior Special Assistant to Ipokia Local Government chairman, and a two-time supervisor in the council.

He was also a member of the Ipokia Local Government Transition Committee in 2016 and a senior legislative aide in the National Assembly.

He is survived by his wife, Mulikat, and three children.
