Celebrations as Igbole-Ekiti installs Bamgboye as Odofin

Residents of Igbole-Ekiti, the home town of the first Professor of Geophysics in West Africa, Professor Ojo-Ugbole, were agog last Saturday as dignitaries across the nation graced the coronation of the Odofin of Igbole-Ekiti, High Chief Oyebisi Oyewale Bamgboye.

It was indeed a celebration galore as the whole community trooped out en masse to celebrate the newly coronated Odofin, who is popularly regarded as the Traditional Prime Minister of the town.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, said the state government was willing and ready to partner with Igbole-Ekiti in any of her developmental projects.

Otunba Egbeyemi congratulated Chief Bangboye and wished him success in his new task.

In his remarks, the Olugbole of Igbole-Ekiti, HRM Oba Emmanuel Olugbenga Ajayi, noted that the community had been experiencing peace and tremendous developments since High Chief Bamgboye was installed.

The Coronation Ceremony also features the presentation of an award of excellence from EduLink Concepts to the Odofin.

Commenting on the justification of the selection, President of the organisation, Evangelist Aduralere Oluwagbohunmi said, “Chief Oyebisi Bamgboye has always been consistent in helping the aged, the less-privileged and young students across schools in Ekiti State.”

Dignitaries who attended the colourful event were the Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, Chairman Ido/ Osi Local Government Area, Mr. Adeola Lawrence, former chairman of Ado Ekiti Local Government Area, Chief Ogunsakin, Former Commissioner for Health in Ekiti State, Hon. Olurotimi Ojo and Ekiti State House of Assembly members.

Others were Evangelist Tope Alabi, King Sunny Ade, members of the Olugbole-in-council, traditional rulers, Rev Blessing Ajayi and hosts of other pastors from Joy Cometh Ministry, Lagos, including the Senior Pastor of the church, Pastor Olaitan Aromolaran.

The celebrant, whose joy knew no bound, also used the opportunity to empower widows and the aged in Ido Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
