Kogi records first COVID-19 cases

Kogi State on Wednesday recorded its first COVID-19 cases as daily infections rose to 389 in Nigeria.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said Kogi recorded two cases while 21 other states recorded various number of cases.

The latest record implies that Cross River is the only state in the country yet to record cases of the pandemic.

Announcing the latest figures via its Twitter handle on Wednesday night, NCDC tweeted, ”389 new cases of #COVID19;

According to official statistics as at 11:48pm on Wednesday, 48, 544 samples have been tested for COVID-19 in Nigeria.

The country now has 5, 978 active cases, 2,501 discharged cases and 254 total deaths.
