A 56-year-old man, Oladimeji David, was on Tuesday arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing two he-goats.
Police prosecutor, Johnson Okunade, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 13 in the town, an offence which contravened section 320(1) (a) of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State 2021.
Okunade urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him study the case file and present his witnesses.
When the charge was read to the accused, he pleaded not guilty.
The defence counsel, Adunni Olanipekun, consequently pleaded for his bail while assuring that her client would not abscond.
Chief Magistrate A.O Adeosun granted the defendant a N50,000 bail with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until April 6 for hearing.
