The 2002 set of Christ’s School, Ado-Ekiti, in Ekiti State, has donated 25 pieces of school-size mattresses to its alma mater in celebration of 20 years anniversary of leaving the secondary school.
The Chairman of the association, Ajileye Afolabi, used the medium to charge other old students to ensure they give back to the school which made them.
He commended members of the association who contributed money to purchase the mattresses.
“I must thank members of the association who contributed money to purchase these mattresses which the school requested upon consultation with the authorities,” he disclosed.
He appreciated God for keeping the members to celebrate “20 Years of Leaving Secondary School”.
In the same vein, Chairman of the Planning Committee, Adekunle Adetiloye, appreciated members for their support and contribution towards the anniversary.
He said that the gesture was to give back to their alma mater and contribute their quota to the development of the school to ease the challenges confronting it.
He promised the school authorities that they would always come back to give back to the school that made them.
In her contribution, the Secretary of the set, Mrs Bolanle Lawal, said that the rest of the celebration is slated for December 26 for other members who could not make the thanksgiving that was held at the school chapel.**
She called on members to ensure they come in their large numbers to merry together in celebrating God’s goodness and faithfulness and for sparing their lives.
The Chaplain of the school, Rev. Alabi Kolawole, during a short sermon, emphasized the benefits in giving and appreciation to God.
The school principal, Rev. Oluwasola Adekola, appreciated the donation, praying for more provisions upon the set.
Highlights of the event was a parade by the school bridge, singing of the school anthem, and reminiscing experiences with teachers and friends.
