Encomiums as Family Buries Late CSP Ajayi in Ibadan

It was a memorable event on Friday as family and loved ones came together for the final burial of a retired Chief Superintendent of Police, Pa Michael Olawole Ajayi, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Pa Ajayi died on Monday, November 20, 2022, surrounded by family members in his home at Olorunsogo area of the city, aged 80.

The Christian Wake was held at his residence last Thursday, where those whose lives he touched as an exceptional police officer, a caring father and an embodiment of integrity testified to his remarkable lifestyle.

The deceased was buried on Friday amid tears and consolations after a church service at St Anne Catholic Church, Ogbere, attended by people from all walks of life.

Born on February 25, 1942, Pa Ajayi joined the Nigeria Police as a recruit Constable barely a month before the Nigerian Civil War started in 1967. He worked during the war at the Defunct East Central State before serving in Lagos, Edo, Ondo, Ekiti, Kogi, Osun and Oyo states.

He retired voluntarily on June 1, 2002, exactly 35 years after he joined the force.

He is survived by wife (Folasade), children, grand-children and great grand-children.
