Justice Danlami Senchi of the FCT High Court in Jabi, Abuja, has ordered an interim suspension of Adams Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Senchi gave the ruling on Wednesday as he ordered Oshiomhole to step down pending the determination of the substantive suit seeking his perpetual removal as the APC chairman.
The court held that the party has wrongfully continued to retain him as its National Chairman while he is under suspension as a member of the party.
Justice Senchi therefore ordered Oshiomhole to stop parading himself as the National Chairman of APC and directed the party to cease acknowledging him as such.
The court also ordered the party to deny him access to the party’s secretariat.
The party had on July 4, 2018, elected Oshiomhole as the National Chairman following a voice vote. He was however suspended by Edo State chapter of the party in November 2019, an action which led to the latest development.
