The Senator representing Adamawa North, Elisha Abbo, has announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Abbo made this known in a letter addressed to the Upper Chamber, which was read by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, during Wednesday’s plenary session.
In the letter, Abbo said his decision became necessary due to mismanagement of the PDP in Adamawa State by Governor Umaru Fintiri.
Recall that Abbo has been in the news for assaulting a woman in an adult toy shop in Abuja, an offence which made an High Court of the Federal Capital Territory sitting in Maitama, earlier in September, to order the payment of N50 million damages.
Justice Samira Bature ruled that Abbo must pay the said sum to Obimibibra Warmate, the female attendant at the shop who was also the victim.
