Profile of Professor Olufemi Victor Adeoluwa

Professor Olufemi Victor Adeoluwa, the Vice Chancellor of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, was born on the 5th of March, 1965.

He is a native of Ado Ekiti.

He holds Bachelor’s degree in History Education, Master’s degree in Educational Technology, a Post Graduate Diploma in Advertising and a Ph.D in Curriculum and Instruction.

He started his lectureship at the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti in 1989 and joined the then Ondo State University now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti in 1990.

He rose through the ranks and become a Professor of Educational Technology in 2009 and delivered his inaugural Lecture titled “Learning Problems and the Technology of Education” on the 5th of March, 2013.

Professor Adeoluwa has 69 publications to his credit including four which he published in 2020. He has presented two keynote addresses and three lead papers at academic conferences.

He has also successfully supervised 18 PhD candidates and 21 Master’s degree candidates in the field of Educational Technology, Curriculum Instruction and Social studies. He is also an External Moderator and Examiner to six Colleges of Education and eight Universities including the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa for the moderation of Bachelor’s, M.Ed, M.Phil and PhD examinations as well as assessment of publication for staff promotion cases. Professor Adeoluwa has been a member of more than 80 Boards and Committees, 40 of which he was the chairman. He was the Head of Department four times, Assistant Director of Sandwich programme and also Sub Dean of the Faculty of Education, Ekiti State University.

He was appointed the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Development), Ekiti State University, in 2014 and he held that position for two years during which he acted as Vice Chancellor of the University between September 14 and 29, 2015.

He was also a Visiting Professor at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State. Professor Adeoluwa has visited Zambia, Ghana, United Arab Emirate and the United Kingdom. He has received several awards and commendations from bodies within and outside Nigeria.

He was appointed the 9th substantive Provost of the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti on September 16, 2019 and was subsequently appointed as the pioneer Vice Chancellor following the upgrading of the College to Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology.

Prof. Adeoluwa is happily married with children.
