Following a nationwide outage that ocurred on October 9, Telecommunications company, MTN Nigeria, has compensated its customers with data ranging from 1MB.
Newsafresh learnt that several customers received messages suhch as “Dear XXXXX, you’ve been refunded 1MB valid for 14 days, till October 31. To check your balance, dial *556#.” and “Dear XXXXX, we apologise again for the outage on Oct 9. This video message is for you to watch free of charge.”
Reports say the telecom explained that the data bundle was a gift to customers for the nationwide downtime that left a large portion of its 77 million users stranded.
Meanwhile, MTN network fluctuated for a number of days last week as some subscribers complained of bad network.
Recall that Newsafresh had reported the outage on the said date even as MTN did not issue any official statement for several hours.
