A former senator representing Rivers South East, Magnus Abe, has said though Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is a formidable force, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is on the part to victory.
Abe, a loyalist of the All Progressives Congress National Leader, said the constitution of the party does not allow for candidature by consensus, thus the party’s presidential ticket will be keenly contested.
The former senator made the remarks on Arise TV while reacting to Osinbajo’s declaration on Monday.
He stressed that Osinbajo’s entry into the race doesn’t not pose any threat to Tinubu as the former is welcome to the contest.
“Osinbanjo is a formidable member of the party and he is welcome to the race to contest if he so desires.
“The constitution of the All Progressives Congress does not provide for any consensus.
“There will be a contest and anybody who knows Asiwaju, knows that he is working on a pathway that will lead him to victory in a contest,” he stated.
