The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has denied a report that one of the Chinese doctors who arrived Nigeria last week tested positive for COVID-19.
The report, given by a Twitter user, @FRNcitizens, went viral earlier in the week.
In a tweet by NCDC on its verified Twitter handle on Thursday, the centre described the report as a ‘rumour’.
”The rumour circulating that a doctor who was brought in to support Nigeria’s public health response has tested positive for #COVID19 is FALSE
”Please note that COVID-19 is not peculiar to any ethnic group or nationality, we should all
#TakeResponsibility,” NCDC tweeted.
