Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, has mourned a great academic and erstwhile VC, Federal University of Technology, Akure, Prof. Adebiyi Gregory Daramola, who suddenly passed on at the age of 64 on Friday, March 25, 2022, after a brief illness.
Prof. Daramola was a lead resource person among others who taught the staff of FUOYE during the University’s Retreat and special training which was initiated and sponsored by Prof. Fasina-led administration last year.
Saddened by the painful exit of the great scholar, Prof. Fasina penned a few words to express his feelings.
His words: “Egbon, you left too soon at a time I needed you most in my career and profession as a Vice-Chancellor.
“You were a unique role model, a peace maker, astute researcher and pragmatic teacher. This was was evinced last year in the training you had with members of staff of FUOYE. Painfully, we never knew it was the very last you’ll deliver before answering the call of the creator.
“Egbon, your enigmatic style of leadership stood you out as the best amongst the rest, all these I will miss with this unexpected departure. Rest in peace.
“On behalf of my humble self, my family, the management, staff and entire FUOYE community, I say adieu to a great scholar, a father, a brother, a mentor and an examplary role model.
Prof Adebiyi Gregory Daramola, Rest In Peace.”
