The management of Akintoye Secondary School Ureje in Ado-Ekiti, in Ado Local Government Area of Ekiti State, has allegedly threatened one to three weeks suspension for students suspected to the bleaching their skin. Students of the school and parents who disclosed the development to some reporters said some students of the school have been warned to resist from using creams that tones or bleaches their bodies.
Speaking on condition onf anonymity, a student of the school told our reporter that he and about nine other students in the senior classes were warned to stop using creams that tones their skin by the Principal of the school wio is a very dark skinned woman.
The development was said to have generated unhealthy reactions from some parents who had to visit the school with their children to appeal to the school management and also explain that their children are actually light skinned and not bleaching their skin.
Reliable sources also said the current Principal of the school has been battling with series of suspected immoral activities by the students which range from unhealthy social groups, possession of phones which immoral contents among others.
A source from the school who reacted to the strange development said, the management was doing its best to discourage acts capable of destroying the future of most teenagers in the school. ” The management of the school has zero tolerance to immoral acts and Indiscipline. And the Principal is very passionate in pursuing this cause. This is why any act that amounts to immorality and Indiscipline are seriously frowned at,” the source explained.
