Buhari extends IGP’s tenure

President Muhammadu Buhari has extended the tenure of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, by three months.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammad Dingyadi, in an interview with State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Thursday.

Dingyadi said the president extended the tenure to allow proper selection of a successor.

Adamu, whose tenure officially ended on Monday, was appointed by Buhari on January 15, 2019, to succeed Ibrahim Idris.

He will be sixty in September, 2021.
