Basement Search Reality TV Show has received a big boost as the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) endorsed the talent hunt geared towards discovering more talents to give the Nigerian movie industry a swell.
Speaking on the endorsement, National President of AGN, Emeka Rollas, said the show will produce new stars that can take over from the big names in the industry when the time comes.
Rollas, who was one of the judges at the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja) audition, stated that the organisers are capable and could drive the project successfully as he called on them to maintain the set standard.
”We are in it and anyone doing anything to promote our industry must be supported. That is why we are endorsing this.
”Our members were at the audition. This project is a welcome development,” he added.
On the audition which took place in the FCT, Rollas revealed that over 300 persons showed up and it lasted till midnight. He said the show is first of its kind and the turn-out was massive.
He therefore urged members of AGN and all actors to support the project in its entirety.
Meanwhile, the audition at the Federal Capital Territory took place on Tuesday at Grand Cubana with Rollas, Ali Nuhu, Sam Dede and Real Warri as judges.
The audition train is expected to go round a total of 10 locations to select potential film makers who would compete for the grand prize of a brand new car and 25 million naira worth of prizes.
According to the organizers, it is a reality show where 30 housemates will be elected into the house for 42 days while movie makers will help develop the movie-making skills of contestants.
The winner will emerge by votes of the viewing audience at home.
The last episode of the audition will hold on Saturday, 24th May, 2021, at Vienna Hotel in Asaba, Delta State capital.
