Unknown gunmen have reportedly kidnapped another Catholic priest, Reverend Father Malachy Asadu, in Nsukka, Enugu State.
Report says Fr. Asadu, priest of Nsukka Catholic Diocese, was kidnapped on Monday along Imilike-Nsukka Road while returning from a diocesan meeting held at Theresa Cathedral, Nsukka.
Enugu State Police spokesman, Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the abduction but said details were still sketchy.
He however said police operatives have since launched a manhunt with a view to rescuing the priest unhurt.
It would be recalled that eight Catholic priest had been kidnapped in Enugu in the last eight months before Monday’s incident.
