Acting Vice-Chancellor plans big for FUOYE Business School … visits Ado-Ekiti twin offices with Principal officers

Acting Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the
Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Prof. Olubunmi Shittu has revealed his great plans to support the dreams of the FUOYE Business School (FBS), to become the best Business School in Africa and rank as one of the best globally. Ag. Director of the School, Dr. Adepoju Asaolu, made this disclosure in a statement made available to the University Media team on Tuesday. FBS was an initiative of the substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, currently on leave.

Dr. Asaolu said part of the big plans the Acting VC has for FBS is to soon relocate it from its current rented offices to a permanent site. Dr. Asaolu hinted that the laudable development was part of the robust discussion his team had with the Management team of the University led by Acting Vice-Chancellor (VC), Prof. Olubunmi Shittu on Tuesday during a visit by the Acting VC.

 

Dr  Asaolu further noted that the August visit provided by the Prof. Shittu led management team boosted the morale of the members of his team and afforded the two parties ample opportunity to fruitfully deliberate on germane areas that would lead to sustained growth and development of the FUOYE Business School (FBS).

Describing the FBS as the first in Ekiti State and arguably the fastest growing Business school in the country, he listed the benefits of the Acting Vice-Chancellor’s team’s visits as, affording the University Management’s team the opportunity to catch a glimpse of where FBS started and where it is at the moment, allowing for an interactive sessions which were electrifying and culminated in charting ways forward to positioning FBS as a leading Business School in Nigeria and Africa, and inspection of facilities leading to identifying of gaps with solutions proffered on how to fill such gaps.

 

Listing the achievements of FBS, Dr. Asaolu said: “The FUOYE Business School (FBS) is a brain child of Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fashina led Management who appointed Dr Asaolu Adepoju as the Ag. Director. FBS is the very first Business School in the history of Ekiti and arguably the fastest growing Business School in Nigeria
We had Forty Nine (49) graduands in our first set of Masters students who convocated at this year’s February Convocation ceremony. We are very hopeful that the figure will be significantly higher by next convocation ceremony. We look forward to the 3rd stage of our growth by moving to our permanent site in the nearest future.

Principal officers of the University who were part of the management team led by the Acting Vice-Chancellor during the Tuesday visit to the FUOYE Business School (FBS) twin offices in Ado-Ekiti, Christ’s School premises at Fajuyi, and FBS’ Premium Executive Centre, on Bank Road, Ado-Ekiti), were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC), Strategic Partnerships, Research, Innovation and Linkages (SPRIL), Prof. Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, FUOYE Registrar, Mr. Mufutau Ibrahim, the Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof. Babatunde Afolabi and Mr. Ateniola, Head, Procurement.
