Ahead of the forthcoming December 17 election of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State Council, Mr Rotimi Ojomoyela has kicked off his campaign for a second term with a promised to run an open and robust administration.
During the campaign, Ojomoyela was accompanied by members of the Ojomoyela Campaign Organisation (OCO) as well as members of the consolidation team including Mrs. Ronke Shama, aspirant for the post of Vice Chairman, Kayode Babatuyi, Secretary, and Remi Adegoke who is vying for the post of the Financial Secretary.
The campaign team was received by the chairman, Broadcasting Service of Ekiti (BSES) Chapel, Kelechi David, chairman, Governing Council of the station, Mr Segun Omolayo, as well as the Deputy Director of BSES, Mr Bisi Oluwasona, and other editorial staff of the station, among others.
Speaking during the visit, Ojomoyela said the mission was to inform the hosts of decisions to contest in the next NUJ election in the state.
Ojomoyela solicited for their supports and urged them to vote for his team, saying the move would enable them continue the good work which started three years ago.
He equally appealed to members of the Governing Board of the station to consider and issue confirmation letters to members of the editorial who had been working as casual workers.
Responding, Chairman of the Governing Council, Mr. Segun Omolayo, welcomed Ojomoyela and his team to the station as he reiterated the readiness of the station to support him during the election.
On members of the station who had been working as casual for a long time without being confirmed, Omolayo expressed sadness over the development and promised to discuss with the appropriate authority.
